About Menelao
Here he is, our boy! Μενέλαος, the Donkey Dog, 麵老 (miànlǎo), Señor Menelao or just simply Menelao. It's so great to see him greet us every morning that we can't help making up new names for him!
We don’t know much about his past, other than he is about 8 years old and spent the last 5 years in the shelter. He's a senior dog (hence the Señor Menelao nickname) with a difficult life, but it's impressive how these hardships haven't spoiled the kindness of his heart: Menelao is the sweetest, friendliest, and most affectionate dog that ever lived.
He is a patient, calm dog, and only rarely lets his voice be heard (though his bark is spectacular: deep, low, and warm like a canine version of Leonard Cohen). Being an elderly citizen, he falls asleep at 9pm and sighs with disapproval if his humans watch TV until late.
Nevertheless, this contemplative demeanor is occasionally swept away by sudden surges of enthusiasm. Be it at home or at the park, whenever a ball is in sight Menelao will recklessly chase it like the playful puppy that he still is at heart!
